Are you looking for ways to bring the St. Patrick’s Day festivities indoors this year? We’ve got you covered! St. Patrick’s Day has been celebrated each year on March 17th for over 400 years. Over time traditions like wearing green, celebrating with friends, and looking for four-leaf clovers have stuck. In this post, we’ve compiled a list of unique ways you can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at home this year to help you have a fun and exciting holiday!
Have a St. Patrick’s Day T-Shirt Decorating Contest
Everyone knows you have to wear green on St. Patrick’s Day or you may get pinched! Instead of looking through your wardrobe for random pieces of clothing with green on them, turn your outfit into a contest! Before the holiday, swing by your local craft store and pick up plain green t-shirts, glitter glue, fabric markers, scissors, and iron-on decorations. Have everyone use the supplies to create a t-shirt of their own that they can then wear for the remainder of the day. You may even love how it turned out so much that it’ll make an appearance at every St. Patrick’s Day from here on out!
Go on a Lucky Scavenger Hunt
You may not be able to go outside and find four-leaf clovers near your home, instead, you can create your own! Using green-colored construction paper and four-leaf clover templates you can cut out and decorate as many four-leaf clovers as you’d like. Take turns hiding the four-leaf clovers around the house and see who can find them all the fastest.
Use Green Food Coloring
Green food coloring is a great way to St. Patrick’s Day-ify any drink! Put a few drops in your party drink of choice (punch, milkshakes, juice, etc.) to infuse a little fun in every sip. Try this recipe for creating delicious Leprechaun Lemonade at home!
Learn an Irish Dance
Dancing is a great way to have fun and be active! Look up different choreography videos for an Irish Stepdance or Riverdance online and try to follow along. You’d be surprised to see the variety of dances to modern songs and even Disney music out there! To capture the memory forever, record your new moves once you’ve learned the dance. If you’re looking for a good video/photo backdrop we’ve got you covered!
Bake Delicious St. Patrick’s Day Themed Treats
There are so many delicious and festive foods to make on St. Patrick’s Day! You can turn nearly every desert into a holiday-themed dish with a few drops of green food coloring. Other popular and fun treats include four-leaf clover sugar cookies, mint chocolate chip cookies, green fudge, Lucky Charms marshmallow crispy treats, and a twist on the classic Puppy Chow by turning it into Leprechaun Bait! Take a pic of any festive treats you decide to bake and tag us on social media, we’d love to see how they turn out.
We hope you have a wonderful, safe St. Patrick’s Day at home! We’ll be sure to share photos of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day parties on social media.
